Lee Cattermole delighted with Chelsea point

Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole insists that his side were "in control" of their own game during the 0-0 Premier League draw with high-flying Chelsea.

Lee Cattermole has declared that Sunderland perfectly executed their gameplan to hold Chelsea to a goalless draw this evening.

The Black Cats became just the third side this season to take points off Jose Mourinho's side with a battling display at the Stadium of Light.

Draw specialists Sunderland, who suffered an 8-0 reverse against Southampton last month, remain in 14th place in the Premier League table following the clash.

"All season we have been in control of our own game," Cattermole told Sky Sports News. "The media have been negative to us but other than the heavy defeat at Southampton and the Arsenal game we've been solid.

"If we could turn a few draws into wins we'd be much higher. Chelsea have got their way of playing and we always wanted to leave them in front of us and not let them play one-twos around us."

Next up for Sunderland is the visit of champions Manchester City on Tuesday night.
