West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce expects to face 'hurting' Sunderland side

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce believes that the Sunderland team will be 'hurting' following last weekend's 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has warned that his team will face a "tough game" against Sunderland as the players will be 'hurting'.

The Black Cats sacked Gus Poyet on Monday following last weekend's 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in front of their home fans.

They quickly replaced the Uruguayan with Dutchman Dick Advocaat, who has been appointed until the end of the season.

"They've moved swiftly to make a change and give themselves the best possible chance of getting the points they need," Allardyce said in this morning's press conference.

"The players at Sunderland will be hurt that they've let the fans down with a 4-0 defeat last week and I think we'll have a very tough game on Saturday."

The North-East outfit are just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
