Martin O'Neill plays down FA Cup hopes

Martin O'Neill has warned Sunderland fans not to expect too much from the Black Cats in the FA Cup.

Sunderland take on Middlesbrough tonight in a fourth-round replay after a 1-1 draw last month.

"If a Sunderland fan asked me if it was worth betting on us to win the Cup I would say keep your money in your pocket," O'Neill said.

"Honestly, that tenner may buy you something, not a lot of fresh air."

Sunderland are currently eighth in the Premier League with 33 points from 24 games.
