Tottenham join race for Genk striker Paul Onuachu?

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and West Ham United in the race to sign Genk striker Paul Onuachu.

The 27-year-old has had a fine start to his 2021-22 season, scoring 11 goals in as many games across all competitions, and that has followed on from a career-best 33 successful strikes last year.

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, the Hammers and Southampton have reportedly made enquiries for the centre-forward, but it is believed that Genk are holding out for a sum in the region of £20m.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are in the market for a backup striker to Harry Kane, who could still push for a move away from the Lilywhites in the upcoming transfer windows, after much speculation surrounding his future during the summer.

West Ham play Genk in the Europa League on Thursday and the Hammers are expected to have scouts closely watching the 6'7" striker, but Atletico Madrid are considered as current frontrunners for his signature.

The Nigeria international still has three years left on his deal with the Belgian outfit, who he has scored 56 goals for in 84 appearances since 2019.
