Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly showing an interest in Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin, who could leave St James' Park this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin.

Since joining the Magpies from Nice in the summer of 2019, Saint-Maximin has established himself as a fan favourite on Tyneside.

The Frenchman has gone on to make 119 competitive appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals and providing 21 assists.

Despite having a contract until June 2026, a recent report claimed that Newcastle may sanction a sale for Saint-Maximin in the summer transfer window.

The player is keen to sign a longer contract which would include a wage increase, but Newcastle are reluctant to meet those demands.

They are unsure whether Saint-Maximin has a long-term future at the club, with the Magpies set to strengthen their attacking options in the summer transfer window.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham are interested in Saint-Maximin, and they are leading the race to secure his services.

The report claims that Spurs have long been admirers of the 26-year-old and made enquiries about his availability in the January transfer window.

With Lucas Moura set to leave on a free transfer and Villarreal loanee Arnaut Danjuma likely to return to his parent club, Tottenham are expected to recruit a winger ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Italian giants AC Milan are said to be interested, but Newcastle's asking price could harm their chances of signing the wide man.

The Magpies will reportedly look to negotiate a fee that could rise to £50m, which would represent a significant profit on the £16.5m that they paid Nice in 2019.

Saint-Maximin has registered one goal and five assists in 20 Premier League appearances this term, but he has missed the club's last four games with a hamstring injury.

There is a possibility that he has played his last game for Newcastle after Howe admitted that he was unsure if the player would return before the end of the season.

Newcastle, who are sitting in third position, will attempt to claim a third consecutive victory when they face basement side Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
