Tottenham Hotspur 'could lower Christian Eriksen asking price after deadline'

Spurs 'could lower Eriksen price after deadline'

Tottenham Hotspur may reportedly lower their valuation of midfielder Christian Eriksen before the end of the week.

With just a year remaining on the playmaker's contract, Spurs wish to avoid the threat of losing one of their star men on a free transfer next summer.

Reports have indicated that United are keen on doing a deal before the close of play on Thursday - something which allegedly appeals to Eriksen.

However, The Mirror claims that Spurs are already contemplating dropping the 27-year-old's asking price in order to generate more concrete interest.

While United and other Premier League clubs only have until 5pm on August 8 to finalise a transfer, teams in Spain and Italy have until the beginning of September.

Spurs, as it stands, are said to be looking for a fee in the region of £130m.
