Report: Aston Villa begin talks with Tottenham Hotspur over Emmanuel Adebayor

Aston Villa have reportedly opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a possible move for striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Midlands outfit have been linked with the Togolese forward for some time due to the expected departure of Christian Benteke to Liverpool.

According to ESPN, preliminary talks between both parties have taken place, but wage demands could prove to be an issue.

Adebayor joined Tottenham from Manchester City in 2012, but has fallen out of favour under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
