Report: Spurs to offer Friedel new deal

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to offer a new contract to experienced goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

Friedel's current deal expires at the end of the season and he has not featured in the Premier League since November 11, when he was displaced by French stopper Hugo Lloris.

However, according to The Mirror, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is a big fan of the 41-year-old and wants him to extend his stay at White Hart Lane so that he can continue providing competition for Lloris.

Blackburn Rovers and Southampton are both rumoured to be interested in signing Friedel.
