Mateo Musacchio 'in talks with Tottenham Hotspur'

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks with Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio.

The 23-year-old has been at the Spanish outfit for the past five seasons and it is believed that his club value him at £21m.

According to The Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino has made Musacchio his primary target this summer as he looks to strengthen the club's defence.

The report goes on to claim that Spurs have made a £16m offer for Argentine, but as his former club River Plate are due to receive 35% of any future transfer fee, Villarreal are looking for at least £20m.
