Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane says that he will remain content at the club as long as they are challenging for silverware, but rejects talk of fresh terms being agreed.

Harry Kane has denied reports that he has opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a new contract, but insists that he is "happy" to remain at the club.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino admitted at the weekend that the Londoners have to do all they possibly can to look after the 24-year-old and keep him out of rival sides' clutches.

That followed talk in the British press of fresh terms being close to finalised with Kane, which would make him the highest-paid Englishman around on £200,000 a week.

The England international has knocked back these suggestions, though, replying "no" when asked if discussions were underway.

Probed on whether any talks were planned and if he was currently happy, he added: "Not that I know of. I've always said as long as we keep progressing, keep getting better and start winning trophies, that's the aim.

"As long as the club keep doing that then, yeah I'm happy here."

Real Madrid-linked striker Kane scored a brace against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon to take his goals tally to 26 in all competitions this season.
