Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen 'resigned to missing out on Real Madrid move'

Eriksen 'resigned to not joining Madrid'

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has reportedly accepted that he will not join Real Madrid.

Despite an excellent six-year period with the North London outfit, Eriksen has struggled to attract formal interest in his signature this summer.

With the Denmark international having less than a year left on his contract, Spurs have been open to selling one of their most prized assets, preferably to a club outside of the Premier League.

Speculation has persisted that the 27-year-old has been keen to sign for Real, aware that Zinedine Zidane has been reshaping his squad at the Bernabeu.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Eriksen has acknowledged that the Spanish giants have little interest in signing him before the end of the current transfer window.

The playmaker appears likely to stay in North London, at least until the start of 2020.
