Dele Alli 'close to penning new Spurs deal'

Dele Alli is to commit his long-term future to Tottenham Hotspur by signing a new contract in the coming days, according to a report.

The England international, who is currently on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, still has three-and-a-half years to run on his existing terms.

According to The Mirror, however, Tottenham want further insurance on the rumoured Real Madrid target and they are happy to reward him for his improved performances.

Alli is said to be ready to put pen to paper, but there have been delays in getting a deal over the line due to contractual obligations to previous agent Rob Segal.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed on Friday that the 22-year-old may make his comeback from injury against Manchester City on Monday.
