Barcelona plotting Gareth Bale bid

Barcelona are reportedly plotting a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale.

The 22-year-old is reportedly alongside Arsenal striker Robin van Persie and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez on Pep Guardiola's summer wish-list.

Harry Redknapp has deployed Bale as an attacking midfielder for most of this season, however Guardiola wants the Welshman to replace Eric Abidal at left-back and may open the bidding at £30m, according to The Metro.

Bale recently stated that a move to La Liga would be hard to turn down.
