Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale open to playing abroad

Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has revealed that he is open to the idea of playing in a foreign league in the future.

The 23-year-old Wales international has often been linked with a move to Spain, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid said to be suitors.

"I'd never be scared of it," he told The Guardian.

"It's something I'd like to experience. It's in the future but if something did come up I would obviously look at it with interest."

Bale joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2007.
