How Tottenham could line up against Luton Town

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou should have Micky van de Ven back at his disposal for Saturday's Premier League showdown with Luton Town in North London.

The Dutchman missed the 3-0 beating at the hands of Fulham two weeks ago, having sustained a hamstring problem during the Lilywhites' 4-0 obliteration of Aston Villa the previous weekend.

Van de Ven did not link up with the Netherlands squad for the international window, but there is optimism that he will battle back from his minor concern in time to line up against the Hatters, having since come through training with no problems.

That is more than can be said for Fraser Forster (foot), Ryan Sessegnon (thigh) and Manor Solomon, though - the latter went under the knife once again in March as he struggles to make headway in his recovery from a knee problem.

Should Van de Ven be given the green light to return, the ex-Wolfsburg man is primed to take the place of Radu Dragusin, whose first Premier League start two weekends ago was a forgettable affair.

An otherwise unaltered backline will comprise familiar faces in Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro, whose 37 shots without scoring is the most for any Premier League player this season.

There could be scope for an alteration in midfield, though, as Rodrigo Bentancur - who recently revealed that he has been playing through a broken little toe - could oust Yves Bissouma to join Pape Sarr.

Further forward, Richarlison should also be primed and ready for a return to the first XI after a knee injury - the Brazilian did not take part in either of his country's friendlies with England or Spain this month.

Brennan Johnson should be sacrificed in that scenario, as Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison act as Richarlison's supporting cast.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison
