Team News: Gareth Bale absent for Tottenham Hotspur

Gareth Bale has failed to recover from a hamstring problem in time for Tottenham Hotspur's home encounter with Swansea City this afternoon.

Without the Welsh international, coach Andre Villas-Boas has opted to deploy a 4-4-2 formation, with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor forming a striking partnership.

Meanwhile, Spanish attacker Michu will lead the line for visiting Swansea.

He will be supported by Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge from out on the wings.
