Tottenham Hotspur's new singing Jan Vertonghen has expressed his relief after completing his move to White Hart Lane.
The Belgian, who will move to North London from Dutch champions Ajax for a reported fee of £9.6m, said that he is ready for the rigors of the Premier League.
"I am very relieved," Vertonghen told Sky Sports News. "It went on for a long time, but I'm glad I'm a Tottenham player right now and I'm looking forward to playing for the club.
"I am 25 years old now and I feel ready to play in the Premier League. I have heard a lot of good stories from my Belgian team-mates. I think I'm ready."
Vertonghen spent nine years in Amsterdam after moving from Germinal Beerschot in 2003.
