Tim Sherwood: 'Tottenham Hotspur showed heart'

Tom Sherwood says that Tottenham Hotspur showed "the heart of a lion" in defeating Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford this evening.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has said that his team fought bravely for tonight's 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

Goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen saw the North Londoners record their second victory in a row at Old Trafford, lifting them to within two points of a Champions League spot.

"I thought we could have played better, moved the ball a bit sharper because they were there for the taking, but games are won on different qualities," Sherwood told BT Sport. "We showed the heart of a lion out there. We really dug in.

"We've got nine players injured so we're having to go with it with a very small squad at the moment.

"We just try to win as many games as we can. We'll try to dig out result and see what we can do. I think we've got good enough players to achieve something, we'll just see what that is."

Spurs next face Arsenal away from home on Saturday in the FA Cup.
