Tim Sherwood: "It's important we bounce back"

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood feels that his side have a great opportunity to respond to their heavy defeat to Liverpool when they face Sunderland at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood believes that it is vital that his side respond to their heavy defeat to Liverpool last week when they face Sunderland.

Spurs were hammered 4-0 by the Reds at Anfield just weeks after losing to rivals Chelsea and Arsenal, but Sherwood feels that his team have the opportunity to make amends when they take on the Premier League's bottom club.

Sherwood told the club's official website: "It's important we bounce back. We've six games now and for me, they are all cup finals. It's really important for pride and to show fans we want to do our best for this football club.

"It's been a difficult week because everyone is upset. If you care about your career, you will be upset about taking a beating like that.

"Saying that, it comes around thick and fast in football, the next game is ahead and we have to get on with it. You have to put it to one side. It will always be there scarring you, but the only way to put it right is to win on Monday."

Tottenham are seventh in the Premier League after 32 games this season.
