Davinson Sanchez says that he will "give everything" to help Tottenham Hotspur end their trophy drought during his time in North London.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez has targeted silverware in his first campaign at the club to 'repay' the faith shown in him by his manager and teammates.

The 21-year-old has become a first-team regular since being brought to North London from Ajax in a club-record deal during the summer, featuring 15 times in all competitions.

Sanchez believes that the best way to justify his £42m transfer fee is to continue producing strong performances at the back, with the aim of adding a trophy to the cabinet during his time with the Lilywhites.

"It's my job to give everything I can on the pitch to help us fight for trophies, which is ultimately the final objective," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "I was welcomed fantastically and very warmly by everyone here and I think that is showing with my performances on the pitch.

"What I'm trying to do now is give that back to everyone at Tottenham - all the care and all the love they've shown me since I've arrived and the trust they've shown in me.

"There's nothing better than being able to be out on a pitch giving your all to repay the faith that your teammates and manager have shown you."

Colombia international Sanchez penned a six-year contract at Spurs in August, having reportedly turned down interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan.
