Mauricio Pochettino 'must speak English' if Tottenham Hotspur move goes ahead

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino must speak English in public if he is to become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, a report suggests.

Mauricio Pochettino will be expected to speak English in public if he becomes the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

The Argentine became one of the favourites to take over at White Hart Lane following the sacking of Tim Sherwood on Tuesday.

Pochettino has had to use a translator for interviews since taking over as manager of Southampton in January 2013, despite reportedly speaking good English.

However, the 42-year-old will have to conduct all interviews in English at Spurs should he be appointed, according to The Telegraph.

The report suggests that this should not be a problem for Pochettino, who was put through intensive English lessons when he first joined the Saints.

Spurs finished in sixth place in the Premier League this season.
