Redknapp worried about players' exodus

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is concerned that a number of his players will choose to leave White Hart Lane in January due to a lack of first-team opportunities.

A host of squad players have been linked to switches away from the North London club in the winter window, including forwards Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

"It's difficult because the players want to play. You won't keep them happy [if they're not]. You just hope you can convince them [to stay]," said Redknapp.

"You want to keep them happy and onside. We need them. We're going to need a big squad and unless you can get a replacement, you can't afford to let people go. We need that strength in depth, especially if we stay in the Europa League."

Tottenham take on PAOK Salonika in the Europa League Group A clash at White Hart Lane tomorrow.
