Harry Redknapp says that he may not be able to offer David Beckham first-team action at Tottenham but hasn't completely ruled out a move for the ex-England captain.

Harry Redknapp has calmed plans to bring David Beckham to Tottenham Hotspur but believes that the former Manchester United star could make a return to England.

Redknapp has admitted that the 36-year-old, who helped clinch the MLS Cup for Los Angeles Galaxy last night, may struggle to get in Spurs' starting lineup.

"He's still a fantastic footballer," Redknapp told talkSPORT. "The problem is that he plays wide right. I've got Aaron Lennon who plays there, Rafael van der Vaart can play there at a pinch in certain games.

"Where ever he goes he's going to want to play so it's not going to be easy to say I can guarantee him a place in the team, that's the problem.

"I wouldn't say it's a definite no-no with Tottenham but I think he's going to want to play regularly, that's the problem. I couldn't sit and say he'd play every game, if he wants to play every game it may be a problem."

While a switch to White Hart Lane may not come to fruition, the former Portsmouth boss thinks that the ex-Real Madrid midfielder could make a comeback on British soil.

"I could see him coming back to England somewhere and playing, I'm sure there will be plenty of takers," he added. "You'd want him around your football club because he's such a good influence on everybody."

French side Paris Saint-Germain remain favourites to land the playmaker.
