Redknapp stunned by loss

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is stunned by his side's 3-1 loss to Manchester United earlier today.

Hosting Spurs dominated large parts of the encounter, but only had a late consolation strike from Jemain Defoe to show for their efforts.

"I thought we were outstanding for 65 minutes. We bossed the game and how we came in 1-0 down at half time, I couldn't believe it. It was soul destroying," Redknapp told BBC Sport.

"They are a great side but we made them look ordinary. We pressed them in midfield and stopped them from playing. We dominated them.

"Brad Friedel hasn't had to make a save but we've conceded three goals. They got the breaks. I couldn't fault the efforts of our players. The first two goals we didn't pick people up and it's basic."

Spurs remain third in the Premier League table.
