Ralf Rangnick, Gerard Houllier join Red Bull Salzburg

Ralf Rangnick and Gerard Houllier have both taken on director roles at Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.

Former Schalke manager Rangnick had been linked with the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, he has put an end to that speculation by accepting the title as sporting director with Salzburg.

Meanwhile, 64-year-old Houllier will work alongside Rangnick as the club's global sports director.

Salzburg have also confirmed that Roger Schmidt will be their new manager.
