Mauricio Pochettino hails "great atmosphere" at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is happy with his new side following the first week of pre-season training.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that there has been a "great atmosphere" during the first week of pre-season training at Tottenham Hotspur.

The team's new head coach, who moved to White Hart Lane from Southampton earlier in the summer, took charge of his first training session with the squad last Saturday.

He told the club's website: "We are very happy with the players and we've enjoyed the training. It's a difficult period for the players because we need to work hard but there has been a great atmosphere.

"It's important for the players to get to know us and for us to get to know them and at the same time we've also started to introduce our philosophy and style into the group.

"The players have responded well and have trained hard every day."

Spurs face the Seattle Sounders in a pre-season friendly at CenturyLink Field next Saturday.
