Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino says that Burnley counterpart Sean Dyche has done a "fantastic job" to lead Burnley into top-six contention.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has heaped praise on Burnley counterpart Sean Dyche ahead of the Premier League clash between the two sides.

The Clarets currently sit in sixth place in the league standings, one point and one place above Spurs ahead of Saturday's showdown at Turf Moor.

Pochettino has said that he has been left impressed with the "patience" shown by Dyche and the club after Burnley were initially relegated from the top flight under Dyche before earning an immediate return to the Premier League.

The 45-year-old told reporters: "Fantastic job. You know it's so clear, no? Look, was in Championship, was in first division then relegated again and then again the Premier League. The patience, the project they build is fantastic.

"He's a fantastic manager when [Burnley] was playing in Championship and was a fantastic manager when he was in the Premier League and again today because he's in the top division and that talks very well not only of Sean Dyche but the players but the club, patience in the project.

"Keep going and no change. They are having a fantastic season and I think it's a fantastic prize for him, the players and the club and I think in this Premier League the position they are is a prize for them, the chairman, the manager, the kit man. I think they're doing a fantastic job in the Premier League."

Burnley and Spurs meet in the North-West less than 24 hours after fifth-placed Arsenal host Liverpool, who currently sit in fourth position.
