Mauricio Pochettino insists that it was not a risk releasing his "honest book" during the season, having seen his side's league form collapse since it hit the shelves.

Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he does not regret launching his "honest book", despite Tottenham Hotspur's alarming slump in form since it was officially released.

Brave New World, which hit the shelves on October 26, contains a number of revealing insights regarding life as Tottenham manager.

Pochettino hinted at disloyalty shown by Eric Dier at one point last season and also criticised former player Kyle Walker, which has reportedly left certain members of his current playing squad unhappy.

The Lilywhites have taken four points from a possible 15 since the release date, but Pochettino does not believe that the book itself is to blame for recent results.

"It's a risk when you lie, if you tell the truth, why? That was a very honest book that was involved with the club for a very good thing. I think it is an amazing book," he told reporters.

"For you, you are all [able to] read what is happening in a professional club. It is a great opportunity to find out [management] is not only playing football, speaking to you [the media].

"When you are clear with everyone there doesn't exist a problem. The problem is when you lie and try to show you are different. Here I am how I am and all that appears in this book the players know better than me. It's nothing to hide."

Spurs slipped down to seventh place following the midweek round of fixtures after losing to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
