Luka Modric to stay in London during Tottenham Hotspur's US tour

Modric won't be part of Spurs tour

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has announced that midfielder Luka Modric will not be joining his teammates for the club's tour of the United States.

The Croatia international, who has been training at Spurs' base in London, has been widely tipped to join Real Madrid in the coming weeks.

"He is in London," said Villas-Boas. "We decided for him to stay in London. I don't think [he'll join us on tour], it is something I have to judge.

"With the levels that the others are at at the moment, I don't think it would be sensible to bring Luka back. A decision can still be taken."

Spurs were held by Los Angeles Galaxy in a 1-1 draw in a friendly last night.
