Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Martin Jol returns to management in Egypt

Martin Jol back in football in Egypt

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham boss Martin Jol has returned to management with Egyptian Premier League leaders Al Ahly.

The 60-year-old has agreed an 18-month contract and will take charge of his first match on March 5 against Misr El-Maqasha.

Jol's new club are three points ahead of Zamalek, who earlier this week appointed former Scotland boss Alex McLeish as successor to ex-Tottenham striker Mido as coach.

Jol has also managed Ajax and Hamburg and was linked with the vacant Brentford job last summer.
