Harry Kane insists Tottenham can win Premier League title

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane believes that Spurs have a squad strong enough to win the Premier League title, but insists that there is still a long way to go.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is confident that Spurs can lift the 2020-21 Premier League title.

Jose Mourinho's men have made a strong start to the campaign and currently sit fifth in the fledgling table - two points behind current leaders Southampton with a game in hand.

The Lilywhites are still waiting for their first ever Premier League title triumph and have not won a major trophy since 2008, but Kane firmly believes that the current Tottenham crop have what it takes to go the distance.

"When you look at the ability of our squad, you would definitely say we've got enough to win a title," Kane said in quotes attributed to The Mirror. "But I'd also say we've been close over the last four, five years but just haven't quite got over the line.

"So it's not as easy as just having a good squad and winning a few games to challenge for title. This is a season where I don't think one team's going to run away with it like Liverpool did last year.

"So there are going to be opportunities for other teams to put good runs together and get right up the table. We've got to make sure we don't get carried away either. We know we've been playing well, we've been winning games.

"The last two games have been good for confidence, just to grind out results and to get good, ugly wins under our belt, because that's what we're going to need.

"There are going to be times when we're 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go or 2-1 up and we need to see the game out, which we didn't do early on in the season.

"So, that's been pleasing but, look, there's a long way to go — we have to see where we are come February or March and go from there."

Kane already has six goals and eight assists to his name from seven matches in the current top-flight campaign, and the England captain will be looking for more when Tottenham travel to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday lunchtime.
