Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen thinks that Mauricio Pochettino intends to remain at the club, even if Real Madrid make an approach in the future.

Christian Eriksen has said that he does not expect Mauricio Pochettino to leave Tottenham Hotspur anytime soon, despite inevitable interest from rival clubs.

Pochettino guided the Lilywhites to another impressive result on Tuesday night after seeing his side recover from two goals down to draw 2-2 away at Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Real Madrid have been repeatedly tipped to move for the Argentine once they part company with Zinedine Zidane, but Eriksen believes that his manager intends to stick around in North London for the long term.

"Like I said before, the players are happy with him and the club is very happy with him," he told reporters after the first-leg draw in Turin. "Of course, it's his decision but I think what's he's building here he would like to be part of it.

"I think that's what he showed when he signed his new deal, a long-term deal. Of course there will be interest from other clubs because he's doing really well but hopefully he'll stay."

Pochettino, who took charge of Spurs in 2014, reiterated earlier this week that he is "happy" at the club.
