Antonio Conte 'tells Tottenham players they are overweight'

New Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte allegedly told a "handful" of the club's players that they are overweight after his first game at the helm.

The Premier League and Serie A-winning coach has witnessed his side overcome Vitesse in the Europa Conference League and play out a goalless stalemate with Everton so far.

The Lilywhites raced into a 3-0 lead against Vitesse before only prevailing by a 3-2 scoreline, and Conte is supposedly unhappy with the fitness levels of some of his players.

According to The Athletic, the Italian has already started making dietary changes to combat the club's overweight stars, with sandwiches, ketchup and mayonnaise no longer on the menu.

The report adds that Conte is keen for Tottenham's players to increase their fruit intake, and he believes their current fitness levels are 'unacceptable' for a Premier League club.

Conte will endeavour to claim his first top-flight win as Tottenham manager against Leeds United on November 21, and the 52-year-old has already admitted that his team have "lots of space for improvement" after his opening two games.
