Danny Rose has revealed that he is hoping to impress new Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas with some good performances at this summer's Olympics.
The 22-year-old will miss most of Spurs' pre-season preparations while on duty with Team GB but he does not believe that playing in the tournament will ruin his chances of playing regularly for Spurs.
Rose said: "I don't think looking ahead to the season that being part of the Olympics is a negative.
"Obviously for me and Steven [Caulker] we have a new manager so we'll meet him late but it's not a problem.
"The first few games in pre-season you're only playing 45 minutes getting fitness, here we're playing 90 minutes against Brazil, then straight into the tournament and competitive games."
Team GB's friendly against Brazil takes place at the Riverside Stadium on Friday.
