Harry Winks could be fit for Tottenham Hotspur's next match after scans revealed that he has not suffered ankle ligament damage, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has reportedly avoided a lengthy spell on the sidelines as the foot injury sustained against Crystal Palace is not as serious as initially expected.

The 21-year-old twisted his right ankle during the 1-0 win at Wembley on Sunday, ruling him out of England's prestige friendlies against Germany and Brazil over the next 10 days.

Winks underwent further scans on Monday afternoon and, according to Sky Sports News, he has avoided any sort of ligament damage.

Tottenham reportedly feared losing the academy product for a short time, but the report suggests that his right ankle - not the same one that he injured against Burnley earlier this year - should quickly heal.

Teammates Harry Kane and Dele Alli have also withdrawn from the England squad after picking up knocks of their own.
