Result: PAOK Salonika 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have drawn their opening Europa League group stage match 0-0 against PAOK Salonika in Greece.

The first half's flashpoint came when PAOK striker Lino hit home a penalty after Stefanos Athanasiadis was felled by keeper Carlo Cudicini in the area. The spot-kick had to be retaken, however, and the kick was put wide.

The Greek side edged the second half, but both sides failed to light up the tie.

The other match in Group A saw Rubin Kazan beat Shamrock Rovers 3-0 in Ireland.
