Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension news vs. LASK Linz

Spurs injury, suspension list vs. LASK Linz

Tottenham Hotspur begin their campaign in the Europa League group stages on Thursday night with a home fixture against LASK Linz.

Having finished in sixth position in the Premier League last season, Spurs were required to win three qualifying matches to earn their spot at this stage of the competition.

Jose Mourinho would have been pleased when discovering his side's opponents in Group J, but they open up against a team who reached the last 16 during 2019-20.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of squaring off against the Austrian outfit in North London.

Japhet Tanganga

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Despite having recently returned to action after an injury which had kept him out of the early weeks of the season, Tanganga now faces another spell on the sidelines with a thigh problem.

Giovani Lo Celso

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: October 22 (vs. LASK Linz)

Lo Celso was left out of the squad at the weekend due to the thigh injury which prevented him from representing Argentina. However, the playmaker is not expected to be sidelined in the long term.

Eric Dier

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: October 22 (vs. LASK Linz)

Dier was another player to miss out on an appearance against the Hammers after he pulled out of the England squad earlier in the week. Like with Lo Celso, the defender's injury is not thought to be serious, putting him in contention for a return on Thursday night.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Spurs have no players suspended for this encounter.
