Southampton have reportedly prepared a bid to bring Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez to the club for next season's return to the Premier League.
Rodriguez impressed for Burnley last season and was named in the Championship's PFA Team of the Year.
Nigel Adkins's team have already had a £4.5m bid for Rodriguez rejected last summer but it has not put the Saints off the striker.
The Daily Mail suggests that Burnley are currently considering a new £6.5m offer for the 22-year-old.
Burnley finished 13th in the Championship last season.
