Mauricio Pochettino: 'Rickie Lambert doubtful for Swansea City match'

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that striker Rickie Lambert will have his fitness assessed before Saturday's game with Swansea City.

Lambert has picked up a minor injury during training this week, and Pochettino has suggested that the England international will begin the game on the substitutes' bench.

The 42-year-old told reporters: "We have doubts over Rickie Lambert.

"We'll assess him tomorrow. Maybe it's better for him to come off the bench."

Lambert has scored 11 times in 35 Premier League appearances during the current campaign.
