Ronald Koeman: 'We can finish in the top four'

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman challenges his side to maintain their push for the top four in the Premier League throughout the rest of the season.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has challenged his players to maintain their push for the Champions League places when they host Swansea City this afternoon.

The Saints are currently fourth in the Premier League table, but Arsenal's victory over Aston Villa has seen them pull level on points.

Koeman accepted that the pressure to finish in the top four has intensified, but has backed his players to sustain their form for the rest of the campaign.

"Of course [the expectancy levels are greater], but we believe that we will have a good final position in the table," he told Sky Sports News.

"We know there is a lot of games left to play and today is a good opportunity to keep going and shoe everyone we will fight and play good football.

"It is difficult because I like how Swansea play. They play really good football and they have a 4-3-3 system and they have had to make some changes with Wilfried Bony and Gylfi Sigurdsson, who can't play, but it is still a challenge."
