Ronald Koeman "frustrated" by Swansea City defeat

Ronald Koeman believes that Swansea City were "lucky" to pick up three points against his Southampton side this afternoon.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has labelled Swansea City's 1-0 victory over his side this afternoon as "lucky".

The Swans struggled to get going in a goalless first half at St Mary's but found their feet following the restart and managed to capitalise on their opponents' profligacy to grab a late win.

Speaking after the game, Koeman told BBC Sport: "We are very frustrated. I think the most lucky team won today. We played well in the first half, but if you don't score it is always difficult. We created chances, had a lot of possession, pressed them, but then you have to score.

"If you don't then it is always more difficult in the second half. We have to keep going. Still we are in a very good position in the league and one defeat will not change that feeling.

"Maybe in the second half we lost a bit of control and that is a pity because we didn't deserve to lose today. Maybe we lacked a little bit of sharpness in the box at the end of the game, even 10 against 11 we still had some good chances."

Despite tasting defeat for the first time in eight league outings, Southampton remain in a top-four spot in the Premier League on goal difference.
