Euro 2024 qualifying permutations: Who can qualify this week?

The international break returns this week, with the business end of qualifying for Euro 2024 now upon the continent's national sides.

Five teams can book their places on the plane to Germany on matchday seven, wrapping up their spot at next summer's tournament with three qualifying games to spare.

Scotland, Portugal, France, Belgium and Austria could all put themselves into that coveted position over the coming days, while others can also put themselves on the brink of reaching Germany.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of the permutations you need to know ahead of the upcoming round of Euro 2024 qualifiers.


GROUP A

MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

Spain vs. Scotland (Thursday) Cyprus vs. Norway (Thursday)

Already qualified: None Already out of contention: None

PERMUTATIONS

  • Scotland will become the first team to qualify for Euro 2024 if they avoid defeat to Spain, or if Norway do not win.
  • Cyprus must win or hope that Spain lose to keep their slim hopes of qualification alive.

  • GROUP B

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Republic of Ireland vs. Greece (Friday) Netherlands vs. France (Friday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: Gibraltar

    PERMUTATIONS

  • France will guarantee their place in Germany if they beat the Netherlands. A draw could also be enough if Greece lose to Republic of Ireland.
  • Republic of Ireland need to win to ensure their qualification hopes survive until at least matchday eight. Defeat would end their chances, while a draw would also not be enough if Netherlands beat France.

  • GROUP C

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Ukraine vs. North Macedonia (Saturday) Italy vs. Malta (Saturday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: None

    PERMUTATIONS

  • No team can qualify or be ruled out of a top-two spot in Group C on matchday seven.

  • GROUP D

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Croatia vs. Turkey (Thursday) Latvia vs Armenia (Thursday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: Latvia

    PERMUTATIONS

  • No team can qualify or be ruled out of a top-two spot in Group D on matchday seven.

  • GROUP E

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Albania vs. Czech Republic (Thursday) Faroe Islands vs. Poland (Thursday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: None

    PERMUTATIONS

  • Faroe Islands will be see their remote top-two hopes officially ended if they lose to Poland, if Czech Republic beat Albania or if both of those matches end as draws.

  • GROUP F

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Austria vs. Belgium (Friday) Estonia vs. Azerbaijan (Friday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: Estonia

    PERMUTATIONS

  • Belgium will seal qualification if they beat Austria.
  • Austria will qualify if they beat Belgium.
  • Azerbaijan must win to stand any chance of keeping their top-two ambitions alive, although even victory would not be enough if Belgium and Austria draw.

  • GROUP G

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Hungary vs. Serbia (Saturday) Bulgaria vs. Lithuania (Saturday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: None

    PERMUTATIONS

  • Bulgaria will be officially eliminated from contention if they do not beat Lithuania.
  • Lithuania also must win to keep their hopes alive, meaning a draw would rule both teams out.

  • GROUP H

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Denmark vs. Kazakhstan (Saturday) Slovenia vs. Finland (Saturday) Northern Ireland vs. San Marino (Saturday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: San Marino

    PERMUTATIONS

  • Northern Ireland must win to stand any chance of keeping their qualification hopes alive, although even that will not be enough if both Denmark and Slovenia win, or if both Kazakhstan and Slovenia win.

  • GROUP I

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Belarus vs. Romania (Thursday) Andorra vs. Kosovo (Thursday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: None

    PERMUTATIONS

  • Belarus will be out of contention if they lose.
  • Kosovo will also be out of contention if they lose, or if they draw and Romania beat Belarus.
  • Andorra must win against Kosovo to keep their top-two chances alive.

  • GROUP J

    MATCHDAY SEVEN FIXTURES

    Portugal vs. Slovakia (Friday) Liechtenstein vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina (Friday) Iceland vs. Luxembourg (Friday)

    Already qualified: None Already out of contention: Liechtenstein

    PERMUTATIONS

  • Portugal will qualify with a win, while a draw could also be enough if Luxembourg lose to Iceland.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina will be out of contention if they lose against Liechtenstein and Slovakia beat Portugal.
  • Iceland will be out of contention if they lose against Luxembourg and Slovakia beat Portugal.
