SBV Excelsior come from behind to beat Heracles

Jeff Stans scores twice as SBV Excelsior beat bottom of the league Heracles 3-1 in their Eredivisie match.

SBV Excelsior have consigned Heracles to a fourth successive defeat in the Eredivisie after coming from behind to claim a 3-1 win this evening.

Denni Avdic gave the visitors the lead in the 10th minute when he latched onto an under-hit back pass before finishing from close range.

The hosts drew level when Jeff Stans slotted home a penalty, and the midfielder added a second three minutes after the break when he took down a long pass just outside the box before rifling a volley into the top corner.

Daryl van Mieghem headed in a third to make sure of the three points as Excelsior moved up to fifth in the table.
