Rudi Garcia: 'Kevin Strootman injury not serious'

Rudi Garcia has eased fears over Kevin Strootman after the Dutchman suffered a knee injury in Roma's 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Sunday.

Strootman went off injured on 34 minutes, prompting fears that the midfielder suffered a recurrence of the problem that sidelined him for nine months last year.

"The doctor has seen it and it seems that it isn't a serious injury," he told reporters. "But with a knee we must always be careful.

"Let's see what happens in the next few hours, he has already suffered so much with knee injuries."

Adem Ljajic cancelled out Mario Gomez's first-half opener, but the Giallorossi failed to find a winner as second-placed Roma slipped seven points behind leaders Juventus.
