Keith Hill: 'Rochdale deserved equaliser in FA Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur'

Rochdale manager Keith Hill is pleased as his players secure an "amazing" 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has praised his players for securing a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in an "amazing" FA Cup fifth-round clash on Sunday.

The League One strugglers opened the scoring at the Crown Oil Arena through Ian Henderson, but Lucas Moura and Harry Kane looked to have seen Spurs over the line.

However, Dale dramatically drew level in injury time as substitute Steve Davies swept home from 12 yards to guarantee a replay at Wembley Stadium.

"It was an amazing game and an amazing event for us," Hill told BBC Sport after the game. "We took the opposition on and we know how good they are.

"It was sacrificial behaviour at times and going 1-0 up we almost lit the bomb and knew what would come. Heads could have gone down at 2-1 but they didn't. We got what we felt was a deserved equaliser.

"We'll see the replay as an opportunity I think the opposition will see it as a headache. It's all on their terms now but we'll go to Wembley and have a go."

Rochdale return to League One action on Wednesday night with a home match against MK Dons.
