James McClean: 'We will take the game to Scotland'

McClean: 'We will take the game to Scotland'

Republic of Ireland winger James McClean has declared that his side will go out "all guns blazing" in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland.

Martin O'Neill's team trail the Scots by two points in Group D, five matches into the qualifying campaign for the tournament in France next year.

However, McClean feels that his side can take a large stride in getting their qualification hopes back on track with a victory at the Aviva Stadium.

He told Sky Sports News: "The pressure is on them as well - if they lose the game, we go ahead of them, so there's pressure on both teams and make no mistake about it, we'll be going out all guns blazing to try to get the win.

"It's like an international derby. Both teams don't want to lose - both teams didn't want to lose in November either, and that's what made it a tight, scrappy affair.

"But look, we know we need to win this game on Saturday, so hopefully we come flying out of the blocks and we take the game to them."

Ireland and Scotland face off in their match on Saturday.
