Rennes are poised to sign France Under-21 forward Paul-Georges Ntep from Auxerre later this week.
The 21-year-old is due to have a medical tomorrow and is expected to sign a three-year contract in Brittany.
Ntep had been heavily linked with a move to England, with Everton, Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City and Arsenal all credited with interest.
He has scored 11 Ligue 2 goals this season.
