Real Madrid 'regret blocking Gareth Bale exit'

Real Madrid reportedly count their losses after blocking Gareth Bale's exit from the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are reportedly counting their losses after blocking Gareth Bale's exit from the Bernabeu.

Bale was due to sign for Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning last year, but Los Blancos are said to have blocked his move at the last minute.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man has struggled for consistent game time under Zinedine Zidane this season, making just 14 La Liga appearances.

According to The Mirror, Real are keen to offload the Wales international this summer, but any chances of a move to China will not be sanctioned under new financial regulations.

The report claims that the Chinese FA is looking to promote homegrown players, meaning that Los Blancos could allegedly be forced to pay a hefty chunk of Bale's £600,000-a-week wages should he stay on at the Bernabeu.

The winger has registered 105 goals in 249 games for Zidane's side since arriving from Spurs in 2013.
