Pogba given transfer ultimatum by Real Madrid?

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly been told that he must join Real Madrid this summer or risk missing out on a switch to the Spanish capital.

Pogba is one of a number of high-profile players to have been linked with the Bernabeu ahead of the transfer window as Zinedine Zidane looks to lead a major overhaul of his squad following a torrid campaign.

Pogba and Chelsea's Eden Hazard are understood to be Madrid's top two targets, although both are expected to cost more than £100m, with recent reports suggesting that United will demand up to £160m for Pogba.

The asking price could prove to be a sticking point in negotiations, but The Mirror claims that Zidane has nonetheless told Pogba's agent Mino Raiola that he needs his client this summer or not at all.

The 26-year-old has previously admitted that it would be a "dream" to play for Real Madrid and could attempt to push through a move following the ultimatum.

Madrid have been linked with a swap deal to lessen their financial outlay, although United are rumoured to want both Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane in exchange for Pogba.
