Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to allow James Rodriguez to sign for city rivals Atletico Madrid in a £13.5m deal.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly expected to win the race to sign Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.

Having been out of favour at the Bernabeu for much of the most recent campaign, Rodriguez has been linked with a switch to the Premier League.

Given Real's rivalry with Atletico, a move to England appeared more likely than the Colombia international being allowed to move across Spain's capital.

However, according to El Golazo de Gol, president Florentino Perez and head coach Zinedine Zidane are happy to give the green light to a deal.

The report suggests that the relevant parties are prepared to reach an agreement over a £13.5m fee.

Although Rodriguez has made 13 appearances this season, the 29-year-old has featured just once since February 6.
